Kering award winner 2023

WINNER OF THE KERING GENERATION AWARD

The Kering Generation Award aims to scout and identify change-making startups and disruptive technologies in Greater China.

The third Kering Generation Award focuses on three dimensions: circular raw materials, circular product designs and circular business models. It evaluates how these are accomplished through the five links of re-design, reuse, recycle, regenerate and recognition. It also discusses about tactics and solutions from the industry end to the consumer end, exploring holistic practices in the fashion industry’s circular economy that cover the entire chain.

Design China – Beijing

Yi Design has teamed up with renowned Italian architect/designer Aldo Cibic (a founding member of the Memphis Movement) to create a sculpture called “Regenerated Tree”, which is made of reclaimed ceramic materials designed by Yi Design.

Using a tree as a symbol of new life, Aldo uses a combination of discarded ceramics and multicolour glazes to bring the bricks and tiles to life for the “happy regeneration tree”. He conveyed the beauty of discarded ceramics with his thoughts.
